This raffle ticket offers some interesting prizes: for ₡3,000, you enter a raffle for three prizes. First prize is a pig without one leg; second prize is one leg of pig; third prize is two bottles of rum. Funds from the raffle go towards a local neighborhood development association to build a cement patio. According to La Teja,
Alonso Salinas, president of the development association, was the mastermind behind this.
“I did it without any malice because previously we had raffled other pigs, and as it’s a lot of meat we thought about spreading out the prize. Why spend money to buy a pig leg if we could take one off of the pig we already had?” said Salinas amid laughter.
